Stem Cell Types

Stem CellsWe use adult stem cells for all our treatments. The choice of stem cell type depends on the patient’s condition and other factors. Each cell type has its own properties. Your  physician-in-charge will explain what stem cell types are recommended for you.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC)

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have the potential of self-renewal and multilineage differentiation, therefore they have great healing capacity. Currently we isolate MSC from bone marrow (BM) and umbilical cord tissues (UC).

MSC Derived from Autologous Bone Marrow

BM contains relatively less stem cells than umbilical cord blood; however, an advantage is autologous BM stem cells are the safest and most active cells since they are used fresh and have not been stored in liquid nitrogen.

MSC Derived from Umbilical Cord

MSC Derived from Umbilical Cord are accessible and painless procedures to donors, in addition they have a low risk of viral contamination.
