Day 1
Arrival.
One of our service personnel will pick you up at the Beijing Capital Airport and bring you to the hospital. This person will assist you with the hospital registration.
Days 2 and 3
Meet your physician.
This person will be in charge of your treatment regimen, including managing your examinations, tests, medications, treatments and will also coordinate with your nurses, rehabilitation, and service personnel.
Neurological examination.
Your physician will take your medical history, ask you some questions, examine your cranial nerve function, motor function, coordination and gait, reflexes, and sensory function. He or she may record a video of your movements.
Initial tests.
This is done in order to check your condition and confirm your eligibility for treatment. The initial test is managed according to your particular needs. It may contain the following tests: routine blood tests, urine tests, ECG, abdominal ultrasound, chest x-ray, and MRI or CT scan.
Final treatment plan.
Your neurologist will plan and discuss your final treatment plan with you. He or she will schedule the transplantation days. Lumbar punctures and IV injections typically take place at 2 pm. You will be informed ahead of time of any changes in the schedule.
Day 4
You will receive your first transplantation. There is a 3–5 day break between transplantations. Should you have fever, or any unexpected symptoms, please report these immediately to the doctor on duty. After the lumbar puncture, you will be monitored and you must lie flat in your bed without a pillow for 4–6 hours. You may move your limbs, but drinking and eating are not allowed. After this duration, you may get up and move around.
Day 8 – 20
You will receive the remainder of your transplantations.
Day 21
You will meet your neurologist and receive your discharge report and invoice. You will then be driven back to the airport to catch your flight.
Please note that after applying, our staff doctor will contact you to discuss your treatment date and will give you details of the initial medical care plan. At this stage, the doctor will suggest various methods that may be used, indicate the number of transplantations that may be needed, and identify the source of stem cells. They will also provide you with a full account of the reasons for their medical advice. Your final treatment plan is formulated in Beijing after the results of all the tests are completed.
